Whether you chose to use Veracode Static Analysis Custom Cleansers depends on 3 things:
1. Whether your organization has this setting enabled, I checked and your security team to allow custom cleansers to propose mitigations.
2. How often you intend to reuse this function. If you only intend to use it once it will only be more overhead, you may want to propose a mitigation manually.
3. Whether you want to include our JAR file in your project. Typically, older legacy projects have stricter requirements about introducing new functionality.
If however it's enabled (again, it is enabled for you), and you plan to reuse the function and this project is not a legacy product I would recommend using it.

Custom Cleanser attributes do not cause the flaws to close but will propose a mitigation for you.
Once the mitigation is proposed you must reach out to your security team to request a mitigation proposal review.
