Web Services is a broad category. If we are talking specifically around API Security Testing, we are actively working on our approach to this challenge. We have two ways this can be achieved - the first is with Veracode Interactive (our IAST offering), which could assess APIs if this is part of your testing within the CI pipeline. This could be assessed today as an option. Our DAST API Security offering is still in development. Given the nature of API Security and the different approaches, we are evaluating which option would be the most effective and valuable to our customers, as a result our timelines for this will be in 2021 (first half of the year).
Hi!, following this topic, there is a preview or sneak peek of this funtionality also any news about it and when will it be released?
We are in our Early Access phase of these products, and working with some of our customers to prove out the product offerings. We are hopeful DAST assessments of APIs will be available towards the end of 2021. We have taken a different approach with IAST compared to what was previously answered above (based on customer feedback). DAST assessments of APIs will also be available in the CI/CD pipeline to ensure early scanning of APIs prior to deployment.
