  • Hello @AJha8889 (Community Member) ,

    In order to provide an accurate answer, can you please clarify which type of scanning you are looking to run, and also provide some type of a real-world example of the dynamically loaded libraries that you are looking to scan? Thank you.

    @Jason M., Veracode Support (Veracode)

    We can load third-party JAR's dynamically in java application like this

    URLClassLoader child = new URLClassLoader(

    new URL[] {myJar.toURI().toURL()},

    this.getClass().getClassLoader()

    );

    Such JAR's need not to be in classpath.

    How does veracode scan those third-party libraries?

      Can you please confirm which kind of scan that you are trying to do? Static, Dynamic, Software Composition Analysis?

    • Hello @AJha8889 (Community Member) ,

      As you know, there are two Veracode scan methods available – Upload & Scan, and Agent Based. What you may not know is that they are the same scanner but that is just invoked with different methods. Upload & Scan runs the “Quick” version of the agent since it doesn’t have access to the source.

      As part of Upload & Scan unmatched libraries will not be included in the SCA results, and there is no indication that there is an unmatched library (https://help.veracode.com/r/hHHR3gv0wYc2WbCclECf_A/2fDFsrT1yu~383NjA~ZiTw). If the library file name matches one in the database then it will not be included in the static scan. If it does not match then it will be included in the static scan as if it’s a first party module.
