Identity API usage for new SAML user succeeds yet returns 500 error

Using the Identity API to create a user, and receiving a 500 error from the service, yet when I look on the platform, the requested user account was created with all expected values.

Reliable automation is quite difficult without accurate return codes...

Wondering if this is a one-off or if anyone else has seen this?

(If the former, perhaps additional details could assist Veracode in resolving?)

  • Hi @rich.steenwyk (Community Member) , thanks for the report. Agree that this is not an ideal user experience.

When you experience errors with the REST API, if possible please note the conversation ID returned in the response (x-conversation-id header). This allows our engineering team to trace the error and figure out what might have happened.

If you can please use the Contact Support link in the Help menu in this case with this information and the details of the call (especially the JSON request that was sent), our engineering teams will take a look and see what is going on. Depending on the results of the investigation, this may give them enough information to address the 500 error on the back end.
