What happens between "Prescan complete" and "Scan submitted"

Sometimes I see a 25 minute delay, most noticeable when waiting for partial results.

Does viewing the in-progress scan in the Veracode platform cause a delay when the scan was initiated by API?

  • Hello @AJoiner553213 (Community Member) ,

The Pre-Scan, which consists of the scan engine creating a data model, based upon the uploaded code. The data model ensures that supported technologies are used by the application in question and ensures that all necessary code has been included for a comprehensive scan.

One thing you can do is review the status of the platform in the below link to see if there are any delays in times in question.

Thanks for the info on pre-scan.

I was particularly interested in the time after prescan, but before scan submitted. I am also aware that there is a queue delay after scan submitted, which makes sense.

  • Hello @AJoiner553213 (Community Member) ,

There are no steps in between “Prescan Complete” and “Scan Submitted”. If auto-scan is turned on, then the scan will submit automatically. If it isn’t, then you must manually submit the scan. Partial results can’t occur until after a scan has been submitted, because we haven’t started scanning yet.

Also there is no delay when using an API account.

I hope that answers your questions.

    Best regards,
